Could it be, that the original Vista drivers were for a 64 bit OS and since I installed the 32 bit Windows 7 there is this problem? Sorry I couldn’t offer any better advice than “reinstall” in this case.
Interestingly, my Microsoft Mouse installed perfectly and worked for about 2 weeks, and then failed.
