I disconnected all drives except the boot one prior to the install and then reconnected them after. Mon Dec 30, I tried to manually update the driver but it failed with the message “The data is invalid”.
I realize that linux and windows handle things very differently, but initially in windows i had the same problem with the exception that the timing out caused all external ports of the laptop to fail.
